BREAST REDUCTION SURGERY

The purpose of breast reduction is to reduce the size of large and drooping breasts. Reduction mammoplasty involves the removal of excess breast fat, glandular tissue and skin, as well as moving the nipple-areola complex to a higher position. This surgery creates a fuller and more attractive breast shape. Breast reduction can help to correct any differences in size between the breasts and reduce the diameter of the areolas if this is disproportionate. The surgery leaves a number of scars depending on the technique used. I tend to opt for the vertical incision technique. Breast reduction usually takes place under general anaesthesia.
